Saturday Night Live (SNL), is a weekly comedy skit TV show with guest stars and guest hosts from Hollywood, aired on NBC every Saturday night at 11:30pm. The show began in 1975 and continues to alternate between high critical success and lean years. The show garners excellent ratings for its time slot on Saturday nights but, depending on the host, can vary wildly between a 3.5 and 8.0 in Nielsen metered-market households. The show actively courts its audience and provides free tickets to fans to come and see the show in-person in New York City. 

"A list" celebrities are drawn to the show by its tradition and irreverence and the past host list is a who's-who of Hollywood celebrities.

Instagram captions, Facebook comments, the mouths of frat stars and beyond — you’ve probably seen or heard this infamous mantra a couple (hundred) times. Five words embellishing the battlecry of a college day-drinker: “Saturdays are for the boys.”

The phrase appeared and exploded almost overnight. But where did it come from?

The alleged origin is a Tweet posted by Twitter user @FeitsBarstool, also known as Barstool Sports blogger John Feitelberg.

Saturdays Are For The Boys is a catchphrase associated with sports-humor blog Barstool Sports. After appearing online, it became a hashtag celebrating male fraternity.

Feitelberg's followers responded with GIFs and images embodying the phrase "Saturday Is For The Boys." On June 17th, he wrote a blog post about the phrase,[2] along with some of his favorite responses.
